
The TechSnatchers team from the Department of Computing, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, was recognized at the 8th SLASSCOM National Ingenuity Awards (SNIA) 2026, held on 16 June 2026 at ITC Ratnadipa, Colombo. The team secured the North Central Provincial Winner title in the Best Innovative Product – University Category for their innovative solution, “Enhancing Engagement in Video Conferencing-Based Learning through Predictive Clustering, Targeted Interaction, and Real-Time Analytics.”
The SLASSCOM National Ingenuity Awards is Sri Lanka’s premier platform for recognizing technological innovation across corporates, startups, universities, and schools. Now in its eighth edition, the awards showcase innovative solutions that demonstrate originality, commercial potential, and measurable societal impact.
The TechSnatchers team, comprising the following students from the 2020/2021 batch, was supervised by Dr. K. A. S. H. Kulathilake:

The recognition highlights the team’s innovative application of computing technologies to improve digital learning experiences and demonstrates the potential of undergraduate research and development activities in addressing contemporary educational challenges.
