InnOrbit’26 Project Carnival Successfully Concluded

The Department of Computing, Faculty of Applied Sciences (FAS), Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, successfully conducted innOrbit’26 – Project Carnival 2026 on 20 March 2026 at the FAS Auditorium. The event provided an opportunity for students of the 2020/2021 batch to showcase their Third-Year Group Project work through presentations and live demonstrations.

A total of 33 student groups participated in the event, presenting the outcomes of their project work to academic staff, alumni resource persons, fellow students, and invited guests. The event was well attended and received with great enthusiasm, providing a valuable platform for students to demonstrate their efforts and achievements.

The event was graced by Dr Manoj Fernando, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, who attended as the Chief Guest. During the programme, the Top 10 Projects were recognized for their outstanding performance.

The Department extends its sincere appreciation to the alumni resource persons who participated in the event and generously contributed their time and expertise. Their involvement played an important role in the success of the programme and further strengthened the Department’s engagement with its alumni community.

Special appreciation is extended to the organizing committee, led by Ms W.B.P.N. Herath, together with Ms Bulugahawaththa, Mr Senarathna, and Mr K.H.A. Hettige, for their dedication and commitment in planning and coordinating the event. The Department also acknowledges the contributions of all academic and non-academic staff members whose support helped ensure the smooth conduct of the programme.

Finally, the Department congratulates all student groups who participated in the Project Carnival and commends the teams whose projects were recognized among the Top 10. The enthusiasm, hard work, and commitment demonstrated by the students contributed significantly to the success of the event. The Department looks forward to continuing this initiative in the future as a platform for students to present their project work and celebrate their achievements.
