Alumni Association of the Faculty of Applied Sciences

The Alumni Association of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Rajarata University of Si Lanka was established in 2003 with a constitution. The office bearers were appointed in 2003 and there on during the Annual General Meetings. The membership of the association has grown since then.

The Faculty of Applied Sciences of Rajarata University of Si Lanka was initially based in Polgolla and in 2006 shifted to the main campus premises in Mihintale. Since then to date has been growing by increasing the number of staff and also by establishing new departments.

The Alumni of the Faculty of Applied Sciences have been involved in many activities in and outside of the faculty supporting the students. One major event is the scholarship program where 5 scholarships are given annually to students from each department. The scholarship is awarded for one year. The association looks forward to expand the scholarship program further by increasing the number of scholarships.

Further, the alumni supports students who passed out to find suitable employments. The alumni also supports the students in career guidance as well. Our Alumni work closely with the Dean and the academic staff of the faculty to extend its fullest support in terms of supporting aforesaid carrier guidance programs, support to arrange in-plant training programs, assist to find out employee opportunities and recommend applied sciences graduates with the support of the members of Alumni who are employed in different segments in both government and private sector. The alumni always wishers to extend its maximum support to uplift the faculty among other faculties in the university as well within other universities in Sri Lanka.
