The Department of Computing proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of its undergraduate students at the Applied Sciences Undergraduate Research Sessions (ADURS) 2026, held on 25 June 2026 at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. This year’s symposium was organized by the Department of Health Promotion, bringing together undergraduate researchers from across the faculty to showcase their innovative research and scholarly contributions.
Representing the Computing Track, eight research abstracts were presented by students from the Bachelor of Science Honours in Information Technology Degree Program and Bachelor of Science Honours in Applied Sciences (Computer Science) Degree Programme, demonstrating the Department’s strong commitment to research excellence, innovation, and interdisciplinary problem-solving.
The Department is delighted to congratulate Mr. P. Keerthishan, who was honoured as the Best Presenter in the Computing Track for his exceptional oral presentation. His achievement reflects both the quality of his research and his outstanding presentation skills.
Adding to the Department’s success, Ms. K. A. N. Hirudini received the Best Poster Presentation Award in the poster presentation category for effectively communicating her research through an engaging and well-structured poster.
The Department also proudly congratulates Mr. V. Krishankishore, who secured Second Place in the Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) Thesis Competition, conducted in parallel with ASURS 2026. The competition challenged participants to present the significance and impact of their research within three minutes, highlighting both scientific communication and presentation excellence.
These accomplishments reflect the dedication, perseverance, and research capabilities of our undergraduate students, together with the invaluable guidance and mentorship provided by their supervisors and academic staff. They also demonstrate the Department’s continuous efforts to cultivate a vibrant research culture that encourages students to develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges through computing research.
The Department of Computing extends its heartfelt congratulations to all students who represented the Department at ASURS 2026 and especially to the award winners for bringing honour to the Department. We also express our sincere appreciation to the Department of Health Promotion for successfully organizing this year’s symposium and providing an excellent platform for undergraduate researchers to share their work.
