
The Department of Computing, Faculty of Applied Sciences (FAS), Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, successfully conducted the “Agile Mastery: Empowering Teams for Project Success” workshop on 14 February 2026 at the FAS Auditorium. The workshop was specifically organized for third-year IT and Computer Science undergraduates of the 2020/2021 batch, with an impressive participation of 91 students, reflecting their strong enthusiasm for industry-oriented learning.
The session was conducted by Mr Nadun De Silva, Senior Project Manager – Enterprise Projects at Xitricon FZCO and a Professional Agile Coach, who delivered an engaging and practice-focused training on Agile and Scrum methodologies. The workshop provided students with a comprehensive understanding of Agile concepts and how agile frameworks are applied in real-world software development and project management environments.
During the training, students actively participated in sessions covering Scrum roles, requirement management with Scrum, Scrum ceremonies, product backlog prioritization, release estimation, sprint simulation and project tracking to delivery. The interactive and hands-on approach enabled students to gain practical insights into team collaboration, iterative development and effective project coordination aligned with industry standards.
As the programme targeted third-year students preparing for their major academic and software development projects, the workshop played a significant role in enhancing their project planning skills, teamwork and professional readiness. The successful engagement of 91 students highlights the department’s ongoing commitment to delivering industry-relevant training that supports academic excellence, innovation and the development of industry-ready IT and Computer Science graduates.
