Rajarata University of Sri Lanka
The Rajarata University of Sri Lanka (RUSL), the only national University in the North-Central province, was established in November 1995 by the Gazette Notification No: 896/2 of 7th November 1995 in the Administrative District of Anuradhapura. The university is located on approximately 140 acres of land which is dedicated primarily to academic, administrative and student facilities including residential, recreational and medical use.
The university comprises faculties of
- Agriculture
- Applied Sciences
- Management Studies
- Social Sciences and Humanities
- Medicine and Allied Sciences
- Technology
Since the university was set up in a makeshift manner, the faculties have been dispersed. The Faculty of Agriculture is located in Puliyankulama and the Faculty of Medicine and Allied Sciences is located at Saliyapura, while the rest are located at Mihintale.
